Thomas Merton has rightly said that “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” I think I can easily apply this philosophy to Miss Sampat’s art classes. It’s been just about a year since my daughter, Alifia, a 9th grader from J.B.Petit joined her art classes. The most beautiful thing about the class is the freedom and the joy my daughter experiences while expressing herself through art. There is no fixed rule. There is beauty and perfection in all her imperfect art pieces. She learns about different artists, Indian and international, and their styles, through books, gallery visits n interactions with different artists. There is an exchange of ‘out-of-the-box thinking and innovative ideas. The cherry on the top would be Miss Sampat and her team of dedicated helpers who make each class so much fun that the children don’t want to leave and keep coming back for more. We love you, Miss Sampat.
