COURSE DESCRIPTION

The IB/IGCSE visual arts program is a thought-provoking course that helps develop students’ skills in problem-solving and divergent thinking. At The Art Studio Mumbai, we work towards making you technically proficient and confident as artists, through open-ended artmaking activities, that will enable you to express personal feelings, experiences and ideas. You will also learn about contemporary practices in the visual arts across the world, which will be needed for your extended essay as well as comparative studies. Our role as visual arts facilitators is to organize these learning experiences so that you can reach your full potential and satisfy the demands of the course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Develop the technical skills and the ability to organize the visual elements necessary to communicate concepts
• Exercise and demonstrate use and mastery of the elements of design
• Use materials, tools, and processes from a variety of media (drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, mixed media)
• Select appropriate media relative to concepts and forms of art
• Produce creative works that demonstrate innovation in concepts, formal language, and/or materials
• Analyse, interpret and evaluate the form and content of works of art
