Course Synopsis

3-Month Modular Course
Due to heavy demand for our foundation programme, we are opening a fourth foundation batch.
This course is designed for students who want to build strong fundamentals in drawing and painting, while learning how to think, observe and develop work independently — not copy outcomes.
Students can join for one 3-month module or continue through the full foundation pathway.

ABOUT THE COURSE

This foundation course introduces students to the core skills and thinking processes required for serious art practice.

The focus is on:

    • Learning how to see
    • Understanding space, form and surface
    • Developing confidence with materials
    • Translating observation into resolved artworks

The course is studio-based, process-driven, and structured to support both beginners and continuing foundation students.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

      • IB / IGCSE / A-Level students seeking depth and skill
      • Students considering future art or design portfolios

      • Mixed media layering

HOW THE COURSE IS TAUGHT

The course follows a studio-based, thinking-led approach.

Each project moves through:
Looking → Testing → Thinking → Making → Reflecting

Students work through:

      • Short skill exercises
      • Material experiments
      • Guided discussions
      • Individual feedback
      • Group critiques

The emphasis is on process over perfection and learning how to make informed visual decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY

      • By the end of the module, students will have:

      • 4-5 resolved artworks
      • One small series based on a single subject
      • Strong drawing and painting foundations
      • Confidence with materials and visual language
      • Clear understanding of process and development

Each 3-month module is complete in itself.

CONTINUING THE FOUNDATION PATHWAY

      • Students experiment with:

      • Complete one module and stop
