In this hands-on workshop, the digital output becomes our starting point. We’ll adhere it to a textured surface and layer it with various mediums, exploring techniques like collage, impasto painting and oil stick rubbing. Together we’ll create a richly layered masterpiece that showcases the magic of mixed media on canvas.
What to expect:
- Introduction to mixed media techniques.
- Exploring the principles of composition, emphasizing balance, focal point and visual flow.
- Experimenting with various textured items such as stencils, bubble wrap modelling pastes to create raised surfaces.
- Layering collage elements to interact with the painted surfaces.
- Layering acrylic paints to build depth and visual interest.
- Experimenting with colour washes and glazes
